Treasure Hunt - New York, NY

This treasure hunt was not just a one-time event. Our Guardian Agents are checking and replenishing the treasure as needed.  The treasure chest has been stashed and is ready for any Agent Family to discover whenever they have the time and willingness to hunt for it!

Hey Adventure Agent families! Agent Strongman here.

Stashed within a 1.5 hour drive from the JFK Airport, this treasure is on public land.  It is accessible for all family members capable of a 2 mile hike from the nearest parking area. 

WARNING: The terrain is quite technical and VERY steep in areas. There are several switchbacks which help make the climb gradual, but be prepared to huff and puff your way up the trail. Please, take your time on this one. The treasure will try to pull you toward it in a hurry, but I urge you to be patient. Watch your step, but also stay alert to what is ahead and above. This one will be tricky and require immense focus!! Be prepared for any and all weather conditions! Check the forecast, prep accordingly, and have your wits about you!

Now that you’re aware of the preliminary details, let's get to the good stuff… the riddle!! 

Study the riddle closely.  Screenshot it, copy it, download it, do what you must!  Just be sure you have access to it while you’re on the hunt (there may be stretches of this journey that put you out of cell service).

Trail Report: June 1st, 2022

After months of being unable to search for the treasure due to a leg injury that required crutches, Agent Visible/Invisible made it to the location! He and his Agent friend were happy to report the treasure chest is in place and stocked with coins for your family to find. Great work Agents! 👏👏

Full New York Riddle:

The city that’s known not to sleep,

Isn’t notorious for being steep,

More recognized as a concrete jungle,

Oh and the traffic can be a struggle.

But if you travel up the Hudson,

You’re almost certain to have a run-in,

With more than one river ridge,

And also pass by, many-a-bridge.

Along the banks there lies a pass,

If you're looking for views that surpass,

Your expectations set when arriving,

The journey here is worth the driving.

The Highlands they’re named,

Leave any trash and you’ll be blamed,

For lessening the beauty seen on high,

Views from the top are in tall supply.

Along the path toward the peak,

I have made, an attempt to sneak,

Somewhere here I hid the stash,

What a perfect locale to keep the cache.

Breakneck be the nickname for,

The nearest trail you should explore,

Starting at the Beacon lot,

Will ensure a parking spot.

From dawn to dusk you may enter,

Climb the stairs and don’t surrender,

Though your heart may pound quite fast,

Embrace the struggle, and have a blast.

From metal to dirt you will transition,

You must stay focused on this mission,

The first switchback will attempt to confuse,

Veer sharp right, and keep it on cruise.

As for the next you’ll do the opposite,

Your quads and calves should be predominate,

Muscles used to keep on churning,

Toward the treasure your heart is yearning.

Push it now and continue to climb,

A slight right hand and you will find,

The view ahead may look quite grim,

But the rest of the hill, you can trim.

There’s no need to keep on ascending,

For here is where the treasure is blending,

In with the forest ground below,

On the left side is winner's row.

A nearby marker on a tree,

Lies just above the path you need,

You’ll also know you’ve gone too far,

By reaching the concrete, with metal rebar.

This camoed side-path contains a tree,

That is crooked, to a slight degree,

You’re looking now for a single rock,

Any sight of the chest it blocks.

I’ve hidden it here for you to find,

The hills on the way aren’t too kind,

But if you are strong of body and mind,

You’ll accept the challenge, and enjoy the grind.
